In Tibetan language, Shangri-La means the "sun and moon in heart", an ideal home only found in heaven. After visiting the holy Lhasa, this cycling tour will lead you to get down from “the Roof of the World” and head for the fairyland-like Shangri-La along the Yunnan-Tibet Highway. You will see countless eye-opening scenery like snowy mountains and steep gorges, azure lakes and bucolic villages, and many historical and cultural sites along the way built along the Ancient Tea-Horse Road.

Almost all the road is downhill and in good condition. Considering the physical and practical demands, ChinaTibetTrain.com provides vehicle support so you can take a car ride to replenish yourself for the following cycling if needed.
