The Gyantso-La Pass. |
. |
Gyantso-La pass, at 5220 metres above sea level; one of
the highest areas of the trip. Some will
experience light headedness, and possibly a headache.
The key is to relax, breathe, and enjoy the scenery. |
. |
Don't let this pretty face fool you, there are many
Tibetans at the pass asking/begging for money. |

Breath taking scenery on the way to Shegar. |

You will arrive in Shegar
at night. You can buy Oxygen here for 40Y.
Stock up on water and food in Shegar as the prices at
EBC are inflated. |
Arriving at the entrance of the Mt. Everest Basecamp.
The 4x4's cannot go any further. You can choose to
1) hike to the basecamp (approx. 2-3hrs), 2) take a
horse carriage there (20mins to camp), or 3) Stay at the
Rongphu monestary. |
